- At the end. A Psalm. Pertaining to Dauid.
- O Lord, in your power the king will be glad,
and at your salvation he shall rejoice greatly! - The desire of his heart you gave him,
and of the will of his lips you did not deprive him.
Interlude on strings - Because you anticipated him with blessings of kindness,
you placed on his head a crown of precious stone. - Life he asked of you, and you gave it to him —
length of days forever and ever. - His glory is great by your salvation;
glory and majesty you will bestow on him. - Because you will give him blessing forever and ever,
you will make him glad with joy through your countenance, - because the king hopes in the Lord,
and in the mercy of the Most High he will not be shaken. - May your hand be found against all your enemies;
may your right hand find all those hating you. - You will make them like an oven of fire
at the opportune-time of your countenance.
The Lord will confound them in his wrath,
and fire will devour them. - Their fruit you will destroy from earth,
and their seed from sons of humanity, - because they turned evil against you;
they devised a plan they will not be able to realize, - because you make them turn back;
in your remnant you will prepare their countenance. - Be exalted, O Lord, in your power!
We will sing and psalm to your sovereignty.
